The McGrath Delusion – a response to The Dawkins Delusion, yet another theologian adding nothing!
December 18, 2009 – 4:37 pm | No Comment

The McGraths, although I suspect more Alister McGrath, created ‘The Dawkins Delusion’ an odd book which I read hoping to find some sort of logical argument against Dawkins. Right at the start of the book McGrath expressed a God Delusion moment of realisation,

Religion

The first thing I ever talked about, all about my views on religion and the role that it plays in our society or my disagreements with it.

Science

Albeit a rather thin perspective but hopefully does deal with some of the issues related around science and how its often been misused.

Superstition

Superstition the religion of fools or at least as bad as religion in many respects! Why people believe in weird things.

News

Random things that I have found which don’t really seem to fit anywhere else, not really news since they are not “new” but I hope interesting.

New Rules

New Rules, following my grumpy life, these are my little moans about the world. Something I stole from Bill Maher!

Dawkins and Thomson at American Atheist convention 2009

Submitted by admin on May 1, 2009 – 4:01 pmNo Comment

There are two new videos posted at Richard Dawkins.Net which are noteworthy, the
first is that of Dawkins himself and the second by Andy Thomson, both of which
talk about religion at the American Atheist convention 2009. Dawkins
interestingly comments on the ‘Expelled: No Intelligence allowed’ documentary,
suggesting as he has always maintained that he does not enter into discussions
with religious people for the simple reason it then puts their ideology at the
same level as a scientific argument. Dawkins notes that if he knew what the
documentary was really about, being that of yet more religious double talk, then
he would have never agreed to take part. The talk is a refreshing change from
earlier ones; it is addressed to already ‘atheists’ so a new set of things are
discussed.

Andy Thomson discusses the history of our species and the reasons to why we can
believe in God. A funny and interesting look at the sorts of evidence that the
Dawkins argument relies upon in order to make his conclusions, based on the
evolutionary theory and current research.  Well worth a watch.
